Our Identity

Who We Are

Root Foundation for Peace Initiative (RF4PI) is a Nigerian civil society organisation focused on conflict prevention and peacebuilding. We connect research, dialogue and action to understand conflict, generate useful evidence and support practical responses.

We are a think-and-do organisation. We believe research should inform decisions and action should be grounded in evidence. Our work brings these two together.

OUR WORK

What We Do

Conflict prevention and peacebuilding are at the centre of our work. We examine the factors that shape whether conflict escalates or is managed peacefully through four connected areas:

These are connected lenses, not separate silos. We use them to understand conflict more fully and identify practical opportunities for prevention.

Why RF4PI?

What Makes RF4PI Distinctive

Too often, research remains disconnected from decisions, while programmes move forward without enough evidence about what works. RF4PI exists to connect the two. We combine rigorous research with local knowledge, dialogue and practical action.

From Research to Action

Research → Evidence → Dialogue → Action → Learning

We begin by understanding the problem. We turn that understanding into usable evidence, bring it into dialogue with people who can act, support practical responses, track what changes and use the lessons to improve the next cycle of work.
